You may not have access to your superyacht inflatables whilst in port, but there are a whole host of other fun activities to do, all within easy reach of the boat.

If your boat is docked in Rybovich marina and you’re blessed with a day off, then make sure you’re well-rested because there is literally tons to do in the local area. Even those pushed for time or who don’t fancy leaving the marina still have a long list of options. Situated in the heart of West Palm Beach, Florida, Rybovich is maybe one of the best-equipped marinas for yacht crew in the entire world.

Their crew lounge offers a relaxed space to relax and unwind. Take advantage of the free WIFI, entertainment systems, and gaming consoles, or challenge crewmates to a game of pool or table tennis. Head to one of the pristine public beaches, like the peaceful Municipal Beach or head up to John D. MacArthur Beach State Park for a little solitude and tranquillity. At most beaches, you’ll find rental outlets for kayaks, stand up paddleboards, and other water toys.

Apoxee Wilderness Trail

Like many superyacht crew, If you’ve been cooped up onboard for too long, then a hike might be just what you need. Fortunately, West Palm Beach offers plenty of hiking and outdoor opportunities. The Apoxee Wilderness Trail is the first urban wilderness area in Palm Beach County and offers a 4.7-mile hike through wet prairies and tropical hammocks. Expect to get your feet wet as you walk over and through the water supply of West Palm Beach on a mixed trail of boardwalks, crushed limestone, and natural surfaces.

Okeeheelee Park

Nearby Okeeheelee Park is one of South Florida’s largest parks, expanding over 1700 acres. The park features water skiing lakes, a BMX track, a 27-hole championship level golf course, a fitness trail, a nature centre, ball fields, soccer fields, a disc golf course, tennis courts, an equestrian centre, mountain bike trails, and a plethora of hiking trails. You can also rent kayaks, canoes, and Stand Up Paddleboards.

If you have some tips or unspent wages burning a hole in your pocket, then you will be pleased to know that Palm Beach is famous for its shopping opportunities. Whether you like to spend your hard-earned cash in designer stores, boutiques, or high street stores, Palm Beach has what you’re looking for, whatever your budget. Worth Avenue in Palm Beach is known as the Rodeo Drive of Florida, with stores like Chanel, Valentino, and Jimmy Choo housed in the beautiful palm tree-lined streets.

Northwood Village in West Palm Beach Florida

If you like vintage and antiques, then head to Northwood Village and Antique Row. City Place in West Palm Beach offers plenty of well-known brands such as Gap, Banana Republic, Victoria’s Secret, Macy’s, Sephora, and Anthropologie. Plus, it’s home to a wealth of restaurants, bars and nightlife.

Entertainment for Superyacht Crew in South Florida

Jump aboard the DivaDuck Sightseeing Tour for a 75 minute guided tour of Palm Beach. This amphibious tour bus takes in the sights from the road and water, starting at Rosemary Square, through beautiful neighbourhoods, and along the bustling Clematis Street. You then dive into Lake Worth and head to Palm Beach, taking in The Breakers along the way.

If you’ve had enough of ogling yachts, then head to Ragtops Motorcars Palm Beach, where you can drool over classic cars like vintage Chevrolet Corvettes and Deluxe Woody Wagons. There are plenty of roadsters, luxury cars and memorabilia too. Rapids Waterpark is worth a visit for those who can’t get enough of superyacht inflatable fun, or are missing their ocean playground. The Brain Drain features a 35 mile per hour, 70-foot drop!

Antillean manatee

Walkable from Rybovitch Marina is Manatee Lagoon. It is one of the best places to see Florida’s beloved and endangered sea cows. As well as the manatees, there are hands-on exhibits, observation areas and webcams. If sea life is your thing, you can also check out the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium.

If architecture is a secret passion, then the town of Delray Beach should be on your to-do list. 15 miles south of West Palm Beach is one of the most beautiful and liveliest streets in Florida, Atlantic Avenue. Boutique shops and eateries nestled together with cafes, art galleries, and ice creameries. If art museums are more your thing, then the Norton Museum of Art is famous for its distinguished collection of 19th and 20th-century masterpieces. Plus, their collection of bronze and jade artefacts is one of the best in the world.

If you’re unsure of what or where to eat, then head to Rosemary Square. This European themed destination offers a bustling shopping, dining and entertainment centre with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and eateries.  If you don’t mind spending a bit of cash, then Buccan at 350 South County Road is rated as one of the best restaurants in Palm Beach. These high-end bistros menu includes an array of ever changing small dishes featuring progressive American cuisine, such as spicy pork tacos, Maine lobster and shrimp fusilli, and Florida snapper.

Next door to Buccan is Imoto, serving small plates of tasty Asian cuisine. Expect to see Peking duck tacos, seared scallops with fresh wasabi and red radish, and Wagyu beef and cucumber salad. Batch New Southern Kitchen and Tap serves up some great American comfort food inside a trendy bar-style space. Everything is cooked from scratch in house and sourced locally, and they boast a garden to glass cocktail program. For those who don’t fancy straying too far from your yacht then Rybovich Marinas M/Y Café serves up a delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Next door to Hullabaloo is Kapow. Kapow is an Asian fusion restaurant that features anime-inspired deco, a loud and lively atmosphere, and has sublime cocktails. The Blind Monk specializes in affordable fine wines, artisanal cheeses, and gourmet small dishes. It features a floor to ceiling wine cellar and is open until 2 am on weekends. The Loft is an unmissable nightclub that features regular celebrity DJs. Roxy’s Pub has been open since 1933 and is perfect for those who like something a little calmer than a nightclub. Visiting Yacht Crew can enjoy rooftop dancing, sporting events, block parties, and live music.
