Introducing Ella
Meet Ella, founder of Superyacht Nanny and involved in the luxury yachting world for the last ten years.
A sailor, a skier and adventure-finder, Ella has worked all over the world and lived in a couple of different countries too. Running a global business, she helps families, nannies and crew create seamless, safe and joy-filled experiences for children onboard superyachts, whether private or charter yachts.
With a calm, creative and solutions-focused approach, no two days are the same in Ella’s world. Delivering a comprehensive range of services for families, nannies, crew and brokers; from training, coaching, consulting, job referrals, digital guides, and provisioning services – Ella’s services are tailored to specifically to elevate the quality of childcare on superyachts and create memory-making onboard adventures for little people.
She has been featured in Business Insider, nominated for a Dockwalk Award, and is proud to have built a supportive community that raises the standard of childcare in UHNW environments.
What Do you do for fun?
Having already called Bolivia, Barcelona and the Netherlands home, exploring new cultures and cuisines really energises – recent trips include Ghana, South Africa and Mexico. If everything goes to plan, I will visit my final continent, Antarctica for my 30th birthday.
If I am not out on the water, working or adventuring, you can find me exploring events at home in London or on my vintage 1955) Lambretta – Rita.
What Makes Superyacht Nanny Unique?
Appreciating that luxury charters are designed to create extraordinary experiences for adults, the options for young ones have, until now, been limited. Identifying this gap in the market, I founded Superyacht Nanny to ensure children also have unforgettable memories at sea. And by default happy children equates to happier parents.
With experience working as both a nanny and stewardess on charter yachts, I saw first-hand how much of a difference well-planned, thoughtful childcare makes—not just for the kids, but for the entire charter experience. I went on to build a service that includes job referrals, consulting for family-friendly yacht planning, CPD-accredited training for crew and nannies, and creative onboard resources like treasure hunts, CV templates and provisioning lists.
Superyacht Nanny is now a recognised name in the industry, trusted by charter brokers, family offices, UHNW clients, and childcare professionals worldwide. What sets us apart is our understanding of the nuances involved in luxury family travel, and the ability to provide bespoke solutions that keep children engaged, parents relaxed, and charters running smoothly.
A recent work highlight was jet skiing with my charge (and accompanied by security) through the Faraglioni rocks. We went really slow through the rocks as she was in total awe of the bats and enjoyed my Capri dinosaur fun facts!
What Do You Love about FunAir?
With more than half the charters I have nannied on embracing the FunAir way of life onboard, I know the company gets it. The products bring that extra level of excitement for kids onboard—and honestly, its amazing to see children’s sense of adventure flourish as they get braver playing on the climbing playgrounds and slides. The water toys are also a great bridge in helping crew connect and engage with younger guests – I love seeing memories being made.
Whether it’s a pool or climbing wall, the ability to turn the yacht into a floating playground (especially during a game of water Olympics) makes all the difference in levelling up the charter experience.
